Welcome to Longfellow Lumina

Pilates, Yoga & Barre Studio in Wayland, MA

Longfellow Lumina is the dedicated Pilates, Yoga, and Barre studio of Longfellow Health Clubs. Located in its own building just across the parking lot from Longfellow Tennis & Health Club in Wayland, Lumina provides a focused environment for mind-body training within the larger Longfellow community.

Lumina was created to offer smaller class sizes, specialized Pilates Reformers, and a quieter studio setting designed for intentional movement. While it operates in a separate building, it is fully part of Longfellow.

Studio access is included with your Longfellow membership. Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Barre classes are complimentary for members. Pilates Reformer and Svaroopa Yoga classes are fee-based due to equipment and limited class size.

Non-members are welcome to participate by purchasing individual classes, sessions or class packs through Mindbody.

Our History

Longfellow Lumina’s Pilates program was shaped in its early years by Kay Finn, who served as Director of the Pilates program in Wayland.

Kay believed deeply in the power of Pilates as a disciplined, thoughtful approach to movement. She had a gift for helping others improve their health through consistent, intentional practice. For many members, Pilates became more than exercise — it became a meaningful part of their routine and well-being under her guidance.

Her influence continues in the way Lumina approaches instruction today: with care, precision, and a genuine commitment to helping people move better and feel stronger.

JEANINE

GROUP EXERCISE & LONGFELLOW LUMINA DIRECTOR, WAYLAND

Jeanine fell in love with fitness at a young age and always knew she wanted to help people move better, feel confident, and stay healthy. She earned her B.S. in Exercise Science and began teaching group exercise at just 17 years old while in college. A former dancer and collegiate gymnast, movement has always been a central part of her life.

With more than 35 years in the wellness and fitness industry, Jeanine has worked in both corporate wellness and fitness club settings, serving as a Program Director, Client Services Director, and longtime Group Exercise Director and Instructor. She is passionate about creating engaging, energizing programs that support Longfellow’s mission of building a strong, welcoming community where every member feels empowered to reach their goals.

Outside of work, Jeanine is a proud wife and mom to two collegiate-athlete kids, plus one very sweet catahoula leopard dog. She finds joy and calm in her garden, and a fun fact—she has been skydiving and has the video to prove it.

Pilates at the Center

Pilates is the foundation of Lumina. Our studio offers both Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates, each designed to build strength, improve alignment, and support long-term movement health.

Mat Pilates uses bodyweight and small props to focus on core stability, posture, flexibility, and controlled strength. Classes are accessible, effective, and a great way to build a strong foundation. Mat work emphasizes precision and control, helping you understand how your body moves.

Reformer Pilates builds on those principles using specialized spring-based equipment that adds resistance and support. The Reformer allows for a wider range of motion, deeper strength work, and more individualized adjustments within a small-group setting. It can be both more supportive and more challenging, depending on your needs.
